Nurse Jennifer and OnStar coordinate helping hands after destructive highway accident

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet

Jennifer was 15 minutes into her long drive from New Brunswick to Ontario when she noticed broken glass and reflective plastic littered across the highway.

Sunday mornings are typically reserved for long breakfasts and quiet contemplation, but for Nurse Jennifer Ferguson it was the beginning of a 13-hour drive home. Her bags were packed, and she hit the road.

On the Trans-Canada highway, Jennifer was looking forward to the long drive ahead when she noticed something strange. A small car fishtailed just out of sight. Thinking nothing of it she drove on. Seconds later, a transport truck on the opposite side of the highway came to a violent halt, sliding from the left lane and into the right lane ditch.

She thought the situation might be bad, so as she slowed down, she continued looking to see if the small car was all right.

“Orange glass and clear plastic. That’s all you see.”

Looking onto the mess, dread set in as Jennifer began to realize what had happened.

“That little car was under the 18-wheeler.”

Being a nurse, Jennifer isn’t a stranger to emergencies. She didn’t hesitate. “I pressed the red button and I got out of the car.” She rushed to help whoever might be in that little car under the truck.

The Emergency-Certified Advisor* was able to pinpoint her vehicle’s location, and that quick call for help was all they needed to dispatch First Responders to the right spot, right on time.

While Jennifer was trying to help those affected by the crash, help was already on the way.

Soon after, paramedics arrived at the scene and Jennifer returned to her vehicle. She was pleasantly surprised when she was met by the Advisor’s voice, who was determined to make sure she was safe before hanging up the headset.

When someone needed her, Jennifer was right there beside them. Highly trained and poised for action, she reminds us of the best we can be. Certified Advisors are there so you’re not alone in your time of need.
